Taiwan

I will visit Taiwan for ten days (from December 8th to 18th) to study abroad and learn English or many other things.
I participate in the short-term study program of Osaka Metropolitan Universty (OMU), which is supported by JST SPRING (fellowship). Our language study abroad plan includes self-introduction, discussions, presentations, cultural classes, and field works.

台湾の海岸線が見えて来ると、まず最初に目に止まったのが港と風力発電機である。
そして溜池がたくさんある田畑の地域に入った。次に見えてきたのが、幹線道路や「高層ビル」群だった。ここからわかるのは、台湾には豊かな土壌と固い地盤が、島の海沿いの地域でさえも近接して存在するということである。

As I saw Taiwan’s shoreline approaching, it was the harbor and the wind turbines at the first sight.

Then our airplane flew above an agricultural area of farmland with many reservoirs. The next scene was the main roads and a bunch of “skyscrapers”.
It shows that Taiwan has both fertile soil and solid ground in close proximity, even near the coastal regions on the island.

桃園市
桃園市域内には洪積層の赤土母質から発達した赤土台地が多数存在する。
極育土と酸化物土が最も代表的な土壌である。
主に茶葉と稲作が生産されており、土壌層は概ね厚い。

飛行機が高度36000 ft の「青い世界」から地上に着陸すると、私たちは空港で写真を取り、バスに乗って国立台湾師範大学に向かいました。

As the plane landed from “the indigo world” at an altitude of 36,000 ft, we took pictures of ourselves in the airport and headed toward the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU).
