I will visit Taiwan for ten days (from December 8th to 18th) to study abroad and learn English or many other things. As I saw Taiwan’s shoreline approaching, it was the harbor and the wind turbines at the first sight.
Then our airplane flew above an agricultural area of farmland with many reservoirs. The next scene was the main roads and a bunch of “skyscrapers”. Anthony Jackson に衝撃を受けたのは 上原ひろみの Move を聴いたときでした。Piano とユニゾンする passage, さらに６弦ベースで下に (上にも) 広げた音域、完璧なリズム感とソリスティックなメロディーライン。すさまじい変拍子でもドラムとピアノにぴったりついていく。 まさに伝説。現代ジャズベースの最高峰、到達点、それが Anthony Jackson でした。
蛇足ですが、コード進行 [3] が F – Bb – F – Bb (I – IV – I – IV) から始まり、サビも Ab – Bb – F (IIIb – IV – I) という終わり方で、クラシックの和声ではこれはアーメン終止と呼ばれています。「静かな落ち着き」や都会的な雰囲気が生まれるとのことで、狙ってハーモニーをつけたと感じるくらいぴったりなわけです[4]。
